Diptych of Christiaan de Hondt, abbott at Ter Duinen

This work is a diptych of restricted measures. It has an intimate character, and was meant at some point to be hung where there were no visitors.

The Seven Sacraments

This work depicts the seven sacraments, ordered around a Crucifixion, which is situated here in the middle hall of a Gothic church. Above each sacrament an angel hovers with a banderole in its hands.

Saint Barbara

Barbara was the only daughter of a Syrian nobleman, who was locked up in a tower so that nobody could see her. When her father wanted to marry her off, she resisted herself.

Madonna at the Fountain

Mary, clad in blue, tenderly holds the Christ child against her.
