The Flemish Art Collection (Vlaamse Kunstcollectie) is the structural partnership amongst three fine-arts museums in Flanders: the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, the Groeninge Museum Bruges and the Museum of Fine Arts Ghent. For this website, the Flemish Art Collection works closely together with these cultural custodians, which possess relevant collections: M Leuven, Memling in Saint Jan's Hospital Museum, Museum Mayer van den Bergh, Saint Salvator Cathedral in Bruges and Saint Bavo Cathedral in Ghent.
It is our goal to present a website that is a reference point for the painted arts in the Burgundian Netherlands in the 15th Century and early-16th Century. With some exception, we also deal with other European Masters, present within the Flemish collections who were active north of the Alps and have played a role in the context of the art in the Burgundian Netherlands. The website is updated and will regularly be complemented with additional collection ‘s presentations, news, web publications and more of the sort. We hope that both the general public as well as experts from around the globe will come browse our website.
