As the largest ever exhibition of the work of Jan van Eyck (February 1st – April 30th, 2020) draws to a close, scholarship gets the final word. Ghent University, the Museum of Fine Arts Ghent and Musea Brugge organise a closing conference on 27 and 28 April 2020.
The programme kicks off with an exclusive after-hours event at the Museum of Fine Arts on Monday evening. After an introduction by the curators and opening speeches, conference participants will get a chance to enjoy the exhibition in a private viewing, followed by a reception. On Tuesday there will be a full-day conference in the Ghent University Aula with six papers by internationally renowned experts from Art History and Medieval Studies: Lorne Campbell, Eberhard König, Hélène Dubois, Susan Frances Jones, Maryan Ainsworth and Wim Blockmans.
