Conference Flemish Miniatures

The Royal Library of Belgium, Illuminare - Study Centre for Medieval Art, the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France are organising a large international conference that will take place in Brussels November 16-18.

As a continuation of the Flemish Miniatures exhibition organised by the Royal Library of Belgium and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, New Perspectives on Flemish Illumination will take stock of half a century of research on late medieval Flemish book illumination. The conference will consider important progress in research made since Léon Delaissé's exhibition in 1959, and the new avenues open to researchers.
